Though Ghana has over the years seen an inundated increase in tourists moving to visit friends and families while they enjoy unforgettable memory filled with concerts, fashion shows, traditional cultural festivals, and much more across multiple regions of Ghana before and after the introduction of the Year of Return and Beyond the Return.

The launch of December in Ghana is to create an experience that will focus on showcasing Ghana as global destination for Christmas and New Year celebration with events highlighting Ghana’s unique role as a core hub for culture and entertainment not only to diaspora families but to non-diaspora family.

  • Fire Storm – December 1st and 30TH – National Theatre

This is a musical theatre happening at the National Theatre in Accra. In these current men dominated society, you cannot wait to experience this event where some groups of women are in mutiny against the norm of our modern society. Will their revolt be successful? Catch the fun and the excitement all at the Fire Storm at the National Theatre this December.

  • African Food Festival – December 4st

Ghana has the best of dishes and I bet no one can compete with their varieties that is why you should be at the Bunso Eco Park in the Eastern Region as you witness this year’s edition of the African Food Festival.  

The celebration of this event is not to promote only African delicacies but to also showcase the beautiful culture to the people. If you have not experience the real feel of the African traditions, then this is the moment to witness all from the African Food Festival.

  • Feok Festival – 16th to 19th December

 This festival is one of the Ghanaian festivals you really need to witness for its historic background. Celebrated by the people of Sandema in the Upper East of Ghana, the festival is in commemoration of their victory over the slave raiders in the 18th century.

  •  Afrochella Music Museum – 23rd December to 4th January – Accra

AFROCHELLA is designed to elevate and highlight the thrilling and thriving millennial talent from the African continent. Some of the events you can expect in this year’s event covers musical performances, fashion, paintings and much more.

  •  BHIM Concert – 23rd December – Accra Grand Arena

This event will be held at the Grand Arena, a musical concert from the Bhim President Stonebwoy and your favorite top artists. This year’s artists on the bill are super crazy and I can’t to get my dancing sneakers.

  •  Wilda Land Festival – 24th – 27th December – Shia Hills Forest Reserve

Wildaland Festival was just launched last year but the creativity involved in the creation of this festival in the Shai Hills Resource Reserve got everyone talking about the event.

Take the Christmas celebration out of the norm by experiencing this year’s Wildaland Festival, a musical concert held in natural ecosystem.

  • Bolgatanga Arts and Craft Fair – December 22nd

This festival is a fair will be focus on the creative in the Northern part of Ghana. Being held at the Jubilee Park, there will be exhibition of the creative like basket and smock weavers, traditional clothes and much more.

There will also be the display of cultures while you get entertain with some traditional music.

  • Samaniid Festival- December 23 to 26

The Kusaasi people in the Upper East Region can’t express their excitement to their maker for a successful year and aiding in bumper harvest without the celebration of the Samanpiid festival.

  • Promise Land- December 24

This is a musical concert from Ghanaian performing artist King Promise. The concert has lots of artists and other surprises on the bill.

This year’s celebration will be exciting as the festival is packed with so much more surprises. This year’s edition is captioned ‘’The Homecoming ‘’ and as the title suggests, there will be lots of fun in the capital city.
