Samoa Jubilates As Travel Record Booms After Reopening -

Samoa Island jubilates due to rise in international travels to their tourist destination. During the pandemic, tourists were stampeded from traveling to all tourist sites of which Samoa Island was no exception. The Island which is blessed with serene beaches is now seeing huge number of travelers exploring their tourist sites. Most of these tourists come from Fiji, Canada, Britain, Australia and New Zealand.

The Island saw its first direct flight not long ago and those passengers were met with a heavy presence of top dignitaries at the airport. Those who were able to grace the occasion included the Minister of Tourism for Samoa, Mr. Toeolesulusulu Cedric Schuster and also the first people were met by the CEO of Samoa, the board of directors and the prominent High Commissioner of Australia, Her Excellency Emily Luck. The high commissioner of Australia was highly elated to welcome the premier direct flight from Australia to Samoa.

There was an air of excitement at the airport because the passengers never believed they would be greeted with such a prominent entourage. Those accompanying the dignitaries we’re glad in traditional wears that showcased the rich culture and traditions of the people of Samoa. When the passengers were driven to the Paradise resort, they were many traditional and international cuisines readily prepared for the visitors.

As they enjoyed their food, traditional choreographers performed some traditional dances to the amusement of the guests. The tourism minister stated at the conference that the world saw a time which was very chaotic in its history. Lockdowns were affected in most parts of the world. Many people lost their loved ones through COVID-19. People had to put their personal interests away and look out for the good of the larger population.

The minister continued by emphasizing that the time has come for all who couldn’t do their heart desires due to lockdown measures to experience those nostalgic moments again. The borders of Samoa Islands is wide open to all those who would want to have a taste of the rich culture and traditions of the Samoa people. He further cautioned that passengers must be proactive and follow the laid down rules concerning how we must keep ourselves clean. This is the only way we can safeguard the longevity of the tourism industry; he ended.

The Samoa tourism industry has gotten a new CEO who couldn’t keep quiet on her elation towards the opening of the tourist destination. She is the the person of Pativaine Petaia-Tevita made some comments known to the general public. She made it known that they are superfluouly happy to welcome new tourist to the Samoa Island since its closure during the COVID-19 period. She also explained that they had never regreted celebrating the reopening of Samoa Islands with the first arriving passengers since the tourist site was closed down.

The spokesperson for Samoa Islands made it known that they had to take up rigorous measures to enable the reopening of the tourist site. They had to even vaccinate children at the age of 15 years. Most of the youth and aged also were encouraged to get their second and booster dozes to enable them fight against the spread of the virus. All these measures helped to convince the government authorities to reopen the tourist site. Hence, she would entreat all and sundry to obey the laid-down measures to avert any further spread of viruses.
