Update: New Covid Test Requirement in Ghana

The Port Health Authority of the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana has issued a new PCR or covid test requirement for travelers arriving in the country.

 As a measure taking against the spread or curb the novel corona virus, Passengers or travelers to Ghana will be required to provide a digitized PCR results or certificate at the Kotoka International Airport when visiting or transiting through the country.

  The Port Health Authority at the Kotoka International Airport following a communiqué from the Ghana Health Service made known of this measure in order to verify the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Test results of travelers arriving in the country.

The Polymerase Chain Reaction results will be scanned into a system as part of the wide range adjustment to raise verification of genuine and sham PCR test results from passengers entering the country.

 The various other safety protocols such as the wearing of the face or nose mask, sanitizing of hands, observing the social distance and so on is to be observed and a self-quarantine of 10 days prior to entry.

Travelers are required to comply with these new measures to prevent denial of entry at the port. Airline operators are also to ensure the enforcement of this new law to prevent any sanctions.

Ghana has recorded a number of imported cases of the novel corona virus and that is why these new impositions has been made to ensure the safety of its citizens.
