1. St. Thomas

The territorial capital and port of Charlotte Amalie is located on the island. In the 2010 census, the population of Saint Thomas was 51,634, about 48.5% of the US Virgin Islands total. As of the 2020 census, the population of Saint Thomas is 42,461. The district has a land area of 32 square miles (83 km2).
The island has a number of natural bays and harbors including Magens Bay, Great Bay, Jersey Bay, Long Bay, Fortuna Bay, and Hendrik Bay. Passenger ships dock and anchor in Long Bay, near Charlotte Amalie. Ships dock at Havensight Pier. Red Hook is an unofficial “town” located on the East End sub-district. Saint Thomas has a tropical savanna climate with a drier season and a wetter season.
St. Thomas which is widely known for cruise life is the busiest and most commercialized of the three islands. It also has a reputation for being more upscale, with plenty of duty-free shopping, high-end dining, and golf. And, unlike the other islands, St. Thomas has a hopping nightlife scene after dark. The Island is visited mostly for skydive and swimming at the Coral World Ocean Park where there is so much sea creatures to see.
The island has hundreds of rental villas as well as hotels and resorts. Numerous shops and restaurants serving both residents and tourists are located in Cruz Bay and Coral Bay.
2. ST. John
Saint John is a popular stop for day and term boat charters from the United States Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands. Individual and group boat charters are widely available on Saint John and island hopping is a favorite local and visitor activity.
Popular day excursions include bar hopping or snorkeling at Christmas Cove, Jost Van Dyke, Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge, Tortola, Norman Island, Virgin Gorda, Water Island, Lovongo Cay, Cooper Island, and Peter Island. Mooring and anchoring locations are available in most bays around Saint John for both day use and overnight stays.

Saint Croix is the largest Island among the other islands in the territory. Its capital is Charlotte Amalie located on St. Thomas. The island’s highest point is Mount Eagle, at 355 meters (1,165 ft). St. Croix’s nickname is “Twin City”, for its two towns, Frederiksted on the western end and Christiansted on the northeast part of the island.
Though the area does not see much of tourists, yet it is a best location for people who love to explore and experience less mercantile.
