The spokesperson for the government stressed that, they will also institutionalize about 2500 workers at the major tourist destinations across the country. The spokesperson further explained that, the nation is being faced by yet another virus resurgence.

This phenomenon is due to a highly contagious mutation of the Omicron strains, BA.5. Thus, due to the virus’s mobility, many people are being affected and hospitalized in the major airports centers in the country. The current South Korean Government has also agreed to enlarge the eligibility for the fourth COVID vaccine shot to all people aged 50 years.

Experts believe that, the elderly, as well as people aged 18 and older, who have grave underlying health conditions will be in good health when they receive the fourth dose. The practice was that, only those who have aged 60 or over and with an immune disorder were qualified for the fourth dose. But the current government had a change in mind. Hence, they have agreed expand it to cover many other people.

Koreans will be able to ask for reservations for the new round of vaccination on Monday. All those who will be able to book a reservation will be given their fourth dose on August 1.
