You might be wondering how you can travel amid this COVID-19 era. You want the requirements before departing or arriving at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Ghana. I am going to brief you the Covid-19 requirements before departing or arriving in Ghana through the Kotoka International Airport.

All passengers arriving and departing Ghana must go through the following requirements prior to departure or arrival.

All Passengers must adhere to the mandatory covid-19 protocols. This include wearing of nose mask or face shield, sanitizing hands with an alcohol based sanitizers and observing social distances to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

Passengers will undergo temperature screening at the airport terminal to ensure the body attains the normal body temperature. Passengers will be quarantined if their temperature exceeds 38 C.

Travelers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before flight departure in the case of Passengers traveling out of Ghana.

Departing Passengers should use the online check-in or the self-service kiosk to reduce physical contacts.

Arriving passengers must provide a positive PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test not exceeding more than 72 hours before the scheduled flight departed from the Passengers home in the case of arriving passengers. Failure to produce may result in refusal of entry in the country. In the case of Ghanaians arriving in their home country, a mandatory quarantine for 14 days at the government approved isolation center at the passenger’s cost upon arrival in Ghana.

Travelers will also be subject to a mandatory covid-19 test at the airport terminal at a fee of $150 for foreigners and $50 for Ghanaians and foreigners from ECOWAS countries. Children below the age of 5 are excluded from the mandatory test. Payment can be made online or at the terminal upon arrival.
