Walkways are routes which provide access to pedestrians. The weird part of walkways is to see those routes created on tree tops called Canopy walkways. In case you are the nature lover of ecotourism, then the Kakum canopy walkway is the right attraction you really need to experience.

Kakum canopy walkway is the best among the others in Africa. Established in 1992 in the Central region of Ghana close to the Cape Coast Castle, the walkway is sited in the tropical rain forest stretching over 300 meters and about 50 meters viewing above the forest floor.

The park or the forest reserve provides conservation for different species of monkeys, antelopes, elephants etc. For avifauna, the park has over 266 species of birds such as parrots, guinea fowls and so on. It’s also a habitat to millions of beautiful colored butterflies making the park super amazing.

The park is unique and most visited tourist site for its access bridge on tree tops made of ropes, wires and wood boards. The bridge suspends on trees with the highest of about 50 meters above the ground or floor. What makes the hiking a memorable and unforgettable one is, that experience from viewing the forest in a bird view while the mammals and other animals move around in the forest.

Also, walking while the bridge swings is fun and scary at the same time as some people wail but don’t want to quit the journey also. People who cried while on the walkway, still wished it never ended to have that exciting feeling again after completion.
